Hi, I'm Suyog Powale, a passionate filmmaker and director with a keen eye for visual storytelling. My journey into the world of film began with a simple need to see the world through a camera lens, which soon turned into a lifelong obsession with capturing moments and creating stories. Over the years, this passion has evolved into a dynamic career in filmmaking, where I not only direct but also operate cameras, work as a gaffer, and take on roles as an event videographer and photographer.

I recently graduated with a Master’s degree in Film Directing from MetFilm School, where I deepened my understanding of cinematic language and honed my skills in blending genres to create unique narratives. My academic journey began with a Bachelor's degree in Film, Television, and New Media Production from DGMC in India, where I first discovered the power of visual storytelling and the art of bringing stories to life on screen.

Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working on a variety of projects in multiple roles, from directing and camera operation to gaffing and event videography. I’ve directed several projects during my master's program and served as the 1st Assistant Director on numerous productions, where I developed a strong sense of leadership, time management, and collaboration.

One of my proudest achievements was being named a Semi-Finalist at the 2023 Student World Impact Film Festival for my film Excursion. This recognition reaffirmed my dedication to storytelling and my desire to create films that resonate with audiences on a deeper level. My creative approach is heavily influenced by techniques drawn from German Expressionism and film noir, which inspire me to use lighting and composition to shape the mood and tone of my work.

As a versatile filmmaker, I am always eager to take on new challenges, whether it's directing, handling camera operations, or setting up lighting as a gaffer. I believe that understanding all aspects of film production makes me a more effective storyteller, capable of seeing each project from a holistic perspective.

Looking ahead, my goal is to continue making films that push creative boundaries and explore new storytelling techniques while remaining true to my unique vision. Whether it's a commercial project, a short film, or an international production, I'm driven by the desire to craft stories that leave a lasting impact.
